Setal, a new and inspiring label.

S et al is a new and promising Melbourne based fashion label designed and created by Sahar Elachker. In our current situation, support is in high demand for small and local Australian brands and businesses so I was so excited to write about Setal and its quest so far.

The name Setal translates to S for Sahar (the designer) and et al meaning “and others” The others refers to the women who wear her stunning clothing as she wishes to be a part of their journey, wherever they may be. Sahar works within the social justice system and is also studying to specialize in mental health so a lot of her values and beliefs are formed on the basis of making people feel beautiful within themselves and radiate that out into a better world. Her extreme love for fashion and drawing inspired her to create Setal with the intention to empower women to wear whatever they want and however they choose.

Setals range is made up of stylish t-shirts and sweaters (for the moment) designed with the everyday woman in mind, no matter what shape, size, ethnicity or overall style. The choice in fabrics is so important because the brand is all about feeling comfortable, so everything is made from 100% cotton and made to be worn with ease and to accommodate the real modern woman in all her dimensions.

Sahars motto is minimal is bold so she creates pieces that resonate with her lifestyle and true being, She also aims to create a community amongst woman expressing her own virtuous through her artwork and designs and supporting women to do the same She wants women to feel strong, confident and free in her garments without any societal pressures.

As for myself just knowing the meaning behind it all made me feel so free and bold in Setal clothing. The garments are so versatile and extremely comfy. I loved the boxy cut t-shirt (available in black, grey and white) with the gorgeous silhouette of a woman that was designed by Sahar. The cozy t-shirt can be worn with absolutely anything. I styled mine with a pair of blue mom jeans and funky black boots for my overall casual look.

The soft and airy S et al branded sweater is available in a light grey colour. Its subtle and beautifully designed to suit just about anything.. I wore it with a pair of fitted high waisted black jeans and a pair of my favorite casual sneakers. I completed my look with a cute bucket hat which are back on the fashion radar this year.

The Setal range has a perfect fit, a meaningful beginning and a focus on being comfortable as well stylish. I wish Setal all the best in its wild fashion journey and cant wait to see more and exciting things from this label.
